Born in Limerick and raised in Dublin, Ireland. Musician, actor & film maker Hugh Lehane moved to California in 2002. (Please scroll down the page for more)
Hugh's first U.S. cd release entitled 'Never Been Before' is the winner of multiple award nominations including Toronto Independent, Southern California and O.C. Music Awards.
Hugh tours extensively across the Southwest where he was voted one of the top 'live' male performers at the 2007 O.C. Music Awards.
In 2007 Hugh released two cd's. The first 'Got Irish?' is a live collection of Hugh's interpretations of well know Irish songs. The second cd entitled 'Retrospective: Pandora's Box' is a collection of some of Hugh's previously unreleased Irish recordings.
Then in June 2008 by popular demand Hugh released a second live CD which is entitled 'Irish & Cover Songs: Live & uncut'. Over the past few years Hugh has built up an enthusiastic following performing shows all over the Southwest, from Lake Tahoe to San Diego, Las Vegas to Tucson and everywhere in between.
Hugh's fans call themselves the 'Hugh Nation' and wear their Hugh Nation shirts with pride! (see below)...
Hugh is currently involved in a number of artistic projects.
1. A new original cd, entitled 'Finding Ireland In America' (which he is working on with Grammy nominated songwriter Harriet Schock).
2. His passion project a documentary/short film entitled 'The Story Of The Hugh Nation'. Trailer coming soon.
3. His first feature film 'Dalhia Knights: Gothic Assassins' (Hugh plays one of the lead roles). Movie website and trailer coming soon!
4. The second part of his retrospective CD collection, which is entitled 'A Dreamer Lives Forever'.
5. Another feature film 'Two Graves', shooting Summer 2011. Hugh plays the lead bad guy in this.
6. A 'year in the life' book Pt 1. (A collection of Hugh's best 'tales from the road', compiled from his first year of weekly blogs).
7. Hugh will soon be featured on episodes of Spike TV's 'Deadliest Warrior', Discovery Channel's 'Homicide Hunter' and on a national CBS show playing the role of 'the most interesting Irishman in the world' ;)
